Firecrackers and interesting things about me

Hm, during July 4th we got these cheap party crackers from Walmart designed to pass as fireworks (I think they built a road over the place we used to get fireworks at or something). One of the fireworks’ shape was worrying. It was shaped like a gun and you pulled this little trigger thingy to shoot it. Makes me worry about the influence of items on children these days.

Another unrelated note, while at HEB, the guy behind the seafood counter smiled and me, so I smiled back and he’s like “Nice to see you smile for once”.  “…” “DX” Well that’s what was going on mentally, at least. It brings up a few interesting things about me though.

  1. I don’t smile when there’s no reason to. But I do take every chance to smile to smile D=
  2. When I’m not smiling it looks like I’m glaring or sad. Like my littleLeevi glare, though hopefully not that bad.
  3. People I don’t know seem to notice and actually remember me. I walked into a frozen yogurt shop once and the guy behind the counter’s like “oh, you were at the piano festival a few weekends ago, weren’t you?” “erm, yeah” “Yeah I saw you there” “erm, great”. And this kind of stuff happens to me all the time. Maybe something about being the only tall asian around, sticks out? iunno

Comical, I’m sure

Half day today, and for next and last two days of school. On the plus side, I got to see Stephen today (yay, for school not ending). No idea what he was doing there… besides hauling around chairs.

So this is the last [half] week of school and summer band soon follows. We’re playing batman music next year… and percussionists still haven’t gotten their music yet.

At least we’ve heard the show, unlike these poor people.

Typical xD

Speaking of comicalness, I was looking for Latin saying yesterday and I found one page with some really, erm, interesting sayings. One such example being:

Estne volumen in toga, an solum tibi libet me videre? (Is that a scroll in your toga, or are you just happy to see me?)

It took me a while to get it but once I got it… >_<

Sweet sorrow

Mmkay so over the last few days I’ve been feeling this cloud over me… sweet sorrow?

With the seniors sorta, officially, gone it’s kinda sad to think I may never see them again. One of them I’m pretty sure is going to be back to help with the band, but the rest?

Specifically I’m talking about Stephen Bonilla, Alex Ortega, and Justin Wenske, all 3 great seniors who I think I’m going to miss more than they know.

So I’m just going to leave this blog post here, in memory of them (geez, it sounds like they’ve died) and hope I’ll get to see and work with them again someday.

Justin Wenske – Piano playing, Rubik’s cube solving, guy with the powerful hair

Stephen Bonilla – Mr. I’ll just hide in the shadows playing my two key drumset and let other people take the fame

Alex Ortega – Best center snare ever. Always working, always there, always caring.

Now lets hope I can stop thinking about them for 3 seconds and grab some sanity back, which’ll probably be lost as soon as I sit down at a piano again.

Blagging

So apparently blagging is the new trend?

Meh, works for me, not that it matters that much xD.

It just makes making a blag easier, because everyone else is spreading theirs around.

So, the name Soli Trewq? Meh, just a change on the normal Trewq. Soli sort of stands for solely, prettified. It also means soil in Latin, apparently. Works for me, I’m a pretty down to earth person. And I like Latin.

Green skin represents my favorite color… and I respect nature :D .

That’s all for now ^_^
